UT Department of Education on Friday issued fresh guidelines for calling students of classes IX to XII to high school. As per the new schedule from Monday students of classes, IX and XI also will be called to the varsity. As per the newest guidelines students of classes, X and XII will have a session from 9 am to 11.30 am and students of classes IX and XI are going to be called from 12noon till 2.30 pm. Also now teachers will remain within the school from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm. Also for any absence of consecutive 3 days, the teachers will now need to provides a medical certificate issued by the govt body.
As per officials, timings are changed to bring uniformity to the reopening of schools. “After visiting various schools, it had been observed that schools are following a staggered schedule. to take care of uniformity and to streamline the method, new instructions are to be followed by all the faculties with immediate effect,” district education officer Alka Mehta stated.
Also as per the new guidelines Principals, heads, and in charge will attend school daily for complete working hours and make sure that each one instruction is being followed.
Students will attend the varsity only on a voluntary basis as per earlier guidelines. 50% of the teaching staff are going to be called to the varsity from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm. Heads are told to make sure that timetable is ready in such a fashion that the teachers attend the varsity on alternate days.
Teachers of Middle and first schools also will attend the varsity and therefore the norm of fifty of staff is going to be followed in these schools also. Teachers teaching the elementary classes but present within the school and haven’t been allocated any period or aren’t providing guidance to students will still take online classes even once they are present within the schools.
All the teachers coming to the faculties will still undertake online classes under the supervision of the respective head. Any teacher who isn’t well and has taken leave for consecutive three days will need to produce a medical certificate from Government Hospital.
IT has further been clarified that each one of the instructions SOPs issued by authorities need to be followed strictly. These instructions are going to be reviewed in due course. In UT Chandigarh schools reopened on September 21.
